Yoga Teacher Training

200-hour fundamentals teacher training

Whether you dream of teaching studio groups or private classes, leading international retreats, or starting your own movement business – the mōrro method is designed with you in mind. mōrro distinguishes itself by its focus on the individual and creates space for graduates to become the teacher they were meant to be, and empower them to teach where, and how they want.

The mōrro method fundamentals program is a 200-hour training that blends the principles of your personal practice with interactive workshops, group discussions, self-guided study, and lots of practice teaching. Each moment  – reading, movement, and discussion –  is curated to guide you in digging deeper to find your teaching strengths & point of view, as well as the voice to articulate it. When you graduate you will be equipped with the tools, knowledge, and confidence  so you can boldly step forward towards your journey as a life-long student and teacher.

Training Format

The mōrro method is a blended training, consisting of in-studio workshops & practice, paired with online self-guided study & reflection. This means that course work takes place both in-studio and at home.

We picked this format because we believe this sets graduates up for success. The blended nature of this training is designed to integrate in-studio learning with at-home examination, to highlight connections between course-material and real-world experience. It’s our experience that this freedom and encouragement towards self-inquiry keeps students engaged with content when we’re together as a group – and during personal study from home.

The mōrro method consists of two training modules:

An online self-guided training module that equips students with foundational knowledge of concepts, movements, and philosophies. This portion of the training can be completed any time before the session’s in-person training dates. Access to the online module will be granted once training payment has been received.

*Please note: access to online self-guided training portion will be made available as early as May 1st, 2024. Access credentials will be provided via email once full tuition has been received on or after May 1st.

In-person training dates which are hosted at the Kingston mōrro studio. The in-person session runs for 10-days, morning-evening*. Attendance for all 10-days is required to successfully graduate from the program.

This portion of the training focuses on applying key concepts covered in the pre-training online module. This includes anatmoical assessment, sequencing, assists and props, and plenty of practice teaching.
